Chapter 2: FILM WORK

Because leaving his father’s church would result in permanent disownment by his family, Bradley instead took advantage of the common desire of evangelical churches to be perceived as modern and convinced the church to pay him to create weekly videos advertising their events. His personal goal? Include as many decapitations and jokes about urine drinking in these videos as possible. His success rate? Astonishingly high. In addition to creating music videos for many of his songs that often involved the cutting edge technologies of stop motion and cheap leftover Halloween blood, our protagonist, fancying himself a Real Filmmaker like Godard, decided to illegally film a music-driven short film at the Magic Kingdom at Disney World. While editing said film, news broke that some (likely) asshole with funding had completed a remarkably similar project at Disneyland. Upon realizing that the aforementioned asshole’s film was a dark tale of the seedy evilness of the massive corporation while Bradley’s was an embarrassing fluff piece about the time he went to Disney alone in search of a girl he had been in love with since high school, our boy wisely abandoned his project. Though he decided to attend graduate school for music, he made sure it was an Art School, the kind of place that would get off on a musician self-making arty videos for his work.
